The Coro Fellows, a diverse cohort of twelve next-generation leaders are committed to making our world a better place through positive and culturally-relevant change.

What does that mean?

We want schools that do a good job of teaching everyone, not just kids from affluent neighborhoods. We want a government that’s as diverse as the people it serves. We want businesses that treat their customers and workers like people, not just as cogs in a machine. We want communities that support everyone who lives there to be the best they can be.

But we’re not just wishing for these things; we’re making them happen.

During our Coro Fellowship, we spend nine months working on over 30 meaningful catalytic projects at different organizations around the Pittsburgh region. From the Mayor’s Office to the Richard King Mellon Foundation to Neighborhood Learning Alliance, we are learning about the systems that influence all our lives and the world we live in. We also have the incredible opportunity to make a small change in those systems.

As the capstone of our nine-month Fellowship, our cohort will travel to Washington, D.C. from May 4 - 8 to get a first-hand look at the systems that shape our country on a federal level.

Our topics are Education, Economic Development, and Healthcare. We will bring the knowledge and experience we gain in D.C. back to the communities we are impacting at home, right here in Pittsburgh.

Now, we need your help to get to D.C.! Youth, optimism, and drive are free, but gas, hotel rooms, and food are not. We need to raise $6,600 on Crowdrise by April 17 to make our trip a success.

How can you help? Donate at https://www.crowdrise.com/fellowspgh2015.

Thank you so much for your donation and support. It means the world to us.
