Event Description:
Coro’s Selection Day is an annual event that brings together regional leaders from all sectors to help Coro select the next class for the Fellows Program in Public Affairs. Coro Pittsburgh’s Selection Day is being held in partnership with Heinz College of Carnegie Mellon University.
Nearly two hundred young people have applied for sixty-six fellowship positions available across five Coro locations—Pittsburgh, St. Louis, New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Selection Day brings to Pittsburgh twenty-four talented and diverse candidates from around the world to compete for the rare opportunity to become a Coro Fellow. Twelve Coro Fellows will ultimately be selected for the fellowship in Pittsburgh.
Leaders from the business, government, and nonprofit sectors contribute a full day of service interviewing and evaluating candidates to help Coro select the next class of fellows. Judges observe candidates in a variety of role plays and simulations that test their ability to operate effectively in situations requiring communication and creativity, as well as logical analysis of problems.
On the evening of Selection Day, candidates, judges, and alumni will gather for a reception to give everyone an opportunity to make personal connections that will continue beyond Selection Day and the Fellow Program in Public Affairs.
You can help Coro Pittsburgh select the next class of Fellows in Public Affairs. We are seeking community leaders to help us identify candidates who exhibit intellectual curiosity, resilience, and values-driven leadership. As a judge you will get a unique look into Coro’s rigorous selection process as you evaluate the candidates’ suitability to participate in the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs.
