The Coro Pittsburgh Fellowship in Public Affairs specializes in helping civic-minded professionals take their careers to the next level.

What You’ll Do: For 9 months, you will join a diverse cohort of degreed professionals from across the country. We’ll immerse you deep into the dynamics of leadership and the sustainable impact through a nonpartisan lens.
You’ll explore the government, business, nonprofit, and innovation sectors, where you will work alongside Pittsburgh’s top leaders to accomplish your most important work yet.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree as of 8/2023
Passion for civic engagement & working with diverse communities
An exceptionally strong work ethic
Excellent relationship-building skills & ability to work effectively in a team-based environment

Based on a review of the written application materials, Coro invites 36 finalists to attend a daylong assessment, Selection Day, at each Coro location in March. Candidates are notified in February if they are selected as finalists. Finalists attend the Selection Day at the Center that reviewed their application. More information on Selection Day is provided to finalists upon notification in February.
Fellows classes are selected from among the finalists based on numerous factors, including: skills and abilities of the individual; diversity of experiences and perspectives among class members; ability of Fellows to learn from and work with each other; regional leadership needs; and others. Invitations to successful candidates to join the Coro Fellows Program are extended in April. Centers also maintain a list of alternates who may receive an invitation to join the program later.

The Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs will be offered in five cities in 2024-25: Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and St. Louis.

Coro Pittsburgh has a partnership with Carnegie Mellon Heinz College and the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Affairs and School of Social Work. Each program offers Fellows alumni scholarships towards a Master’s Degree.
Alumni of the Coro Fellowship who enroll in any of the master’s programs at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy are eligible for a scholarship of a minimum of 50% of tuition per semester.
