On Thursday, June 29th at 6pm, Public Allies Pittsburgh, an AmeriCorp program operated by Coro Pittsburgh, will celebrate the graduation of their 2016-2017 cohort. These 24 young leaders will have completed a 10-month nonprofit apprenticeship and leadership development program, contributing over 40,800 cumulative hours to building the capacity of organizations like Homewood Children’s Village, 412 Food Rescue, and PA Serves. Many graduates will transition to jobs in Pittsburgh’s nonprofit sector, while others will enroll at Carlow, Pitt, CMU, and CCAC.
“For 10 months, these young leaders have given their time, talent, and treasure to Pittsburgh’s people and communities,” says program director, Sarah Collier. “We are very proud of them and their achievements, and are excited to bring our friends and partners together to honor their accomplishments.” The free, public celebration will be held at Coro’s South Side office at 26 South 27th Street, and will have food and music in addition to a brief ceremony.
